this portrait conveys the expression extremely well, using the basics of cartooning and without exaggerating too much creates a slightly life like feel. the colour palette consists of warm colours suggesting drowsy days and that half dreamlike state that one usually falls into. the slightly slouched back and relaxed expression shows a theme of comfort and, again, warmth. the paint textured background also conveys a sense of drowsiness in itself bringing the focus of the picture straight into the expression of the character. I give only a three and a half star rating for originality as this is a moment that we all feel ourselves and so not meant to be original; but creates a lovely effect filled with school memories and seasonal warmth. the portrait overall has a very summery feel with a warm glow and familiar expression for all of us. great work Stalcry!
